Functions

The Directorate-General for Consumer Affairs is the body responsible for the regulation, within the scope of state powers, that affects the protection and promotion of the rights of consumers and users, the establishment and promotion of effective procedures for their protection, inter-territorial institutional cooperation in this area, the promotion of consumer and user associations and support for the Consumers and Users Board.

Academic background

PhD in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid and an expert in Inequality, Cooperation and Development, from the same university.

Professional experience

Lecturer in Economics in the Department of Applied Economics, Structure and History, Faculty of Economics and Business (UCM), from 2012 to present.

Previously a lecturer in the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Valladolid (UVA).

In her professional experience, she has been the coordinator of the Academic Advisory Board of the Municipal Citizen Audit of Debt and Public Policies at the Madrid City Council (2016-2017), researcher at the Trade Union Institute of Work, Environment and Health (ISTAS), 2010-2011, researcher at the Institute of Fiscal Studies (IEF), Ministry of Economy and Finance, 2009-2010 and member of the Editorial Board of 'Keys to the World Economy', Foreign Trade Institute (ICEX) and the Complutense Institute of International Studies (ICEI) between 2003 and 2005.
