Functions
The Undersecretariat of Consumer Affairs is the body that performs the functions listed in Article 63 of Law 40/2015, of 1 October and the management, promotion and supervision of its reporting bodies and, where appropriate, the public bodies assigned to it. Likewise, it is responsible for coordinating the Department's actions in relation to matters that will be submitted to the Government's collegiate bodies.
Academic background
Higher Technical Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and member of the Public Administrations' Higher Body of Information Systems and Technologies since 2005.
Professional experience
He has held positions of varying responsibilities in both the private sector (always related to IT) and in the Central State Administration. Prior to his appointment as Undersecretary of Consumer Affairs, he held the position of Deputy Director General for Management and Institutional Relations (2015-2019) of the Directorate-General for the Regulation of Gambling of the Ministry of Finance. President of the Association of the Higher Bodies of Information Systems and Technologies of the State Administration (ASTIC) between 2016-2018.
